Not a Coffee Drinker? These 5 Teas Have Benefits Galore

People who love their coffee…LOVE their coffee. I am not one of those people. Tea, on the other hand, is something I love. When prepared hot, it can be comforting, like a warm hug. When prepared cold, it’s refreshing and invigorating. Safe to say, tea has more benefits than will fit in this article, but here are my top five favorite teas and their incredible health benefits.

Fennel Tea

With a taste similar to licorice and a relaxing aroma, fennel tea is chock-full of benefits. Fennel has long been thought to strengthen your eyesight, regulate hormones, improve your digestion, and help memory. I drink fennel tea following an indulgent meal that I feel may require some help in the digestion department. Here’s my pick for ,,fennel tea.

Green Tea

Green tea is touted to be one of the healthiest beverages on the planet. It’s loaded with antioxidants that have a myriad of health benefits, which include: improved brain function, increased fat burning, protection against cancer, and lowering the risk of heart disease. If those benefits weren’t enough, green tea may help prevent type 2 diabetes and it may reduce bad breath! Whether you enjoy your green tea cold or hot, definitely give it a try. Here’s my pick for ,,green tea.

Peppermint Tea

Peppermint tea is one of the most common teas and with good reason. While it’s most popularly used for digestive tract health, it also has antioxidant, anticancer, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. Peppermint tea tastes like, well, peppermint. Add a bit of honey and you have a soothing, tasty, beneficial beverage. Here’s my pick for ,,peppermint tea.

Rose Hip Tea

Rose Hip Tea, which is made from the fruit of the rose plant, is high in vitamin C and antioxidants. Its anti-inflammatory properties may reduce inflammation and pain associated with arthritis. Studies have also found rose hips effective at fighting aging of the skin and reducing stomach fat. It makes sense that rose hips are such a popular anti-aging skincare ingredient. Here’s my pick for ,,rose hip tea.

Apple Tea

Ever heard of apple tea? Until recently, neither had I. We already know about the ,,benefits of apple cider vinegar and the old ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ saying…but apple tea – this is a new one. The benefits range from boosting digestion to regulating blood sugar levels to improving heart health, vision, and immunity. Wow! Whether you ,,brew your own apple tea (like Kourtney K) or you ,,purchase it, cinnamon is one of the supporting beneficial ingredients. Did someone say warm apple cider on a chilly winter night? Yes, please.
