7 Ways to Use Apple Cider Vinegar for Glowing Skin
Apple Cider Vinegar has been a favorite pantry staple but who says it can't be included as part of your skincare regimen. Aside from the many benefits that come from drinking Apple Cider Vinegar, it also works wonders on your skin. Here's how..
Soothes & Exfoliates
Apple Cider Vinegar has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe the skin and Malic Acid that softens the skin. This acid acts as a chemical exfoliator, by removing dead skin build-up and revealing healthy new skin cells. Remember to dilute ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) with water before applying it to your skin. Typically, a ratio of one part ACV to four parts water is perfect!
Apple Cider Vinegar is a potent antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antiviral substance. Talk about a triple threat! Because of these qualities, it keeps bacteria at bay and pimples from forming. ACV also makes a great spot treatment for any blemishes that pop up. Simply dip a cotton swab in an ACV/water mixture and apply it to the pimple.
Malic acid is known for its ability to decrease the production of melanin. Melanin is what gives the skin its pigmentation. Therefore, Apple Cider Vinegar can help to improve hyperpigmentation (the darkening of certain areas of the skin)
Try mixing some ACV with baking soda and water to create a blackhead-fighting exfoliator. The antibacterial properties in ACV help with the removal of existing blackheads, as well as preventing future ones from popping up.
Because Apple Cider Vinegar helps with inflammation, using it topically helps to stimulate blood circulation in the skin. Basically, it gets things moving and flowing. This contributes to that beautiful glow we all hope to achieve.
ACV may help to relieve the irritating itching associated with psoriasis-related scaly patches. Use ACV as a toner and apply it directly to dry spots on the skin, using a cotton pad.
Helps Itchy Scalp
Apple Cider Vinegar is helpful in treating dandruff and an itchy scalp. It also stimulates follicles for healthy hair growth! Apple Cider Vinegar exfoliates the top layers of the scalp to expose smoother skin. Here's a tip- Saturate your scalp with four parts water and one part vinegar a few times a week. Leave on for ten minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
