Many of everyday favorites can work magic on dry and frizzy hair, and here’s one of my favorite hair mask recipes

To re-create the mask at home, you’ll need these three simple ingredients

1 Overripe Banana

2 TBSP Olive Oil

1 TBSP Honey

Isn’t it a joy that with this mask you’ll finally be able to make use of the ripening bananas sitting on your kitchen table? Simply take a banana and blend or mash it until it forms a lump free puree. This fruit is perfect for conditioning hair because it’s rich in vitamins like potassium and minerals, and not only does it strengthen but it balances your scalp’s pH level.

Olive oil is an age-old beauty necessity. Without a doubt olive oil is a vital component to this perfect hair mask. As little as two tablespoons of this liquid gold in your banana puree will create a soft paste that will effectively add more shine and luster to your hair. This will moisturize your follicles, healing any damage that could potentially cause breakage and split ends.

The final step is my favorite step. Honey! Take one tablespoon of honey and combine with your nourishing creation. Honey is amazing because it contains keratin which makes the hair stronger. It also encourages cell regeneration for a healthier scalp and contains anti-inflammatory properties that can calm irritation.

Now that you know the perfect hair mask can be as easy as a 3 step process, you’re ready to create your own. Apply the mixture to wet hair and leave on for 30 minutes.

Rinse off to reveal softer and sleeker hair. Be sure to repeat this process once a week in order to keep dehydration away!
