If you like to stay on top of beauty trends, fads, and innovations, you might feel pressure to have all the ‘latest and greatest’ products, but here at St. Eden, we’re more concerned with making sure those products include the best natural ingredients.

When it comes to your skin, there are certain natural ingredients that function much like superpowers, which is what we’re sharing with you today.

These five ingredients are likely to show up in many of the clean beauty products you already buy, but what’s really great about them is that they’re also extremely beneficial all on their own.

Botanical oils. Common essential oils that may appear in skincare products are avocado, grapeseed, rosehips, coconut, jojoba, etc., and are good at everything from providing hydration to removing excess oil to deep cleansing. Did you know that coconut oil is one of the best natural ingredients for removing makeup? It’s a much cleaner alternative to traditional makeup removers and will keep your skin ultra-hydrated in the process.

Manuka honey. This wonder ingredient provides a laundry list of benefits to the skin. Its antibacterial properties make it effective for treating wounds and burns, its anti-inflammatory properties are ideal for acne-prone skin and other conditions like eczema, and its antioxidant properties make it great for combating free radicals and slowing down the aging process. It can also be helpful for drawing moisture into the skin and retaining it.

Green tea extract. Much like drinking green tea is good for your body, studies have shown that applying green tea extract topically also has a myriad of benefits for your skin. It may help prevent melanoma, provide relief for conditions like rosacea and psoriasis, clear up acne, reduce dark circles and puffiness, and minimize signs of aging, among other things.

Aloe vera. There’s so much to love about aloe vera! This healing plant is truly one of Earth’s greatest gifts in terms of health benefits. Not only does aloe provide relief from burns, wounds, and other chronic skin conditions, it’s also an effective acne, dark circle, and hyperpigmentation treatment. Aloe is extraordinarily moisturizing, which can help the skin age well, as well as reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

Vitamin E. This amazing essential nutrient has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties galore! It may also be capable of reducing and repairing UV damage to the skin. Vitamin E is extremely moisturizing and is especially beneficial to those with dry skin. When applied around the eyes, it rejuvenates the delicate skin in this area and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Bonus! Shea butter and oatmeal are also great natural ingredients for your skin, providing relief from such things as dryness, itchiness, and redness and even helping to boost collagen, among other benefits. Both ingredients can be found in a variety of products from body butter to balms to lotions.
